South Jersey Community Podcast

South Jersey Community Podcast

Did you know Meg also hosts the Bridgeton Beacon Podcast, at BridgetonBeacon.com?

The Bridgeton Beacon is a community podcast for, and about, South Jersey. From agriculture to wine, it's a fun source for information about business and culture in Bridgeton, and beyond. You can find the show on Apple, Spotify, Google, and all the popular podcast apps. But the best place to discover the show is at BridgetonBeacon.com

It's not every day that one has the opportunity to sit down with a farmer and learn about their trade. In fact, it's something that many of us take for granted. We drive to the grocery store, pick up our food, and go on with our day. However, there are people out there who work hard to provide us with the food we need to survive - and they do so in a way that is unique to their region.

Recently, The Bridgeton Beacon produced a series on South Jersey agriculture featuring farmers from J.G. Akerboom, Overdevest Nursery, and Doug Fisher, Secretary of Agriculture for New Jersey. Enjoy the stories, and learn about the challenges and rewards of running a farm in the Garden State.

And if you're a fan of wine, chances are you'll love our NJ Winery podcast series.

In this series, we interview vineyard owners and winemakers across the state to learn about their craft and get a glimpse into the world of winemaking. Enjoy conversations with Cedar Rose, Hawk Haven, and more.

One favorite interview is the series of episodes with Tomasello Winery, one of New Jersey's oldest and most renowned wineries

The idea was to get a better understanding of the people and hard work required to produce the food we eat, and the wine we drink.

It's not an easy job, but it's one that these farmers have dedicated their lives to. We are grateful for their efforts, and we hope you'll take the time to learn more about South Jersey agriculture. Thank you for reading!
